Random Thoughts 13 - Pandora in Malifaux 2.0

So, I'm going to try a strange tactic... I'm going to discuss my thoughts on how to run something in Malifaux openly, a few months away from a tournament. Admittedly, I'm not in this to win, but I'm pretty sure this is listed close to the top of The Art of War Do Not Do list. But, it's all in the name of fun... For those of you who have been with the blog a while, you'll probably know that my first steps into Malifaux were under the watchful eye of Pandora. Originally I had trouble using her, but when I managed to figure out how she worked, I started to get really good with her. I wasn't perfect, and my friends new my plans well enough to devise their own counters, for which I had to counter, and at the end of the day, I really like a game that lets that evolving concept grow, especially when I find use for models I have little to no previous interest in.

Things Get Opened: Earth Reborn by Z-Man Games

So, a few weeks ago I did an unboxing video... And the article I tried to post didn't go through for some reason... So here is a link to my Unboxing of Earth Reborn: So that's the video... thing... More stuff soon. Possibly I'll get to do write ups for some of these games at some point in the near future (gorram lack of free time...)

Things Get Played: Lady Justice, defeated in Parramatta

As a quick post, I've been playing Malifaux on a weekly basis for a while now. This is for a few reasons: 1) I figured if I didn't force some R&R into my life, into would be hard to fit in later on 2) A great Hobby Store, The Games Cube, opened up a few suburbs away, and they run Malifaux on Wednesday nights 3) In the time I wasn't playing it, I missed it, and wanted to play it more.  4) I wanted to use Justice more in the lead-up to 2nd Edition, to try to get more 1st edition experience with her before the switch. In the past few weeks I've managed to get a game in every week at least (apart from one night where I painted), and a few months ago played in the GT here in Sydney. It's also been fun going against some crews I don't often get a chance to go up against. Last week I went up against Mark's Colette Crew, which is a really nice looking crew. Mark did a write up on his own blog with some pictures of the match you should check out if you h

Things Get Opened - Puppet Wars Unstitched

The blog is back! I decided that even though I have a backlog of photos to post and things like that, I should do something with my YouTube channel as well. So the other night I sat down and did an unboxing of Puppet Wars Unstitched from Wyrd Miniatures.

Things Get Painted - Zargun the Assassin

Well, I finally got round to deciding to post photos. This is the Guild of Harmony Assassin, which I painted up for my brother's 21st a few weeks ago. It was a quick job, and these are unfortunately the best photos I have, as I had to take them in a hurry, and the model is now about 400km away, so not an ideal place to retake photos :D Anyway, my brother is an Assassin's Creed fan, so the colour choice for this was obvious. I put him on a quick Aetherworks cobblestone base and display plinth to present it a bit better.
